Life in Paris, though no longer anywhere near Etienne Marcel
helo! do you mind if i copy this whole of your entry at my blog?
I love that this song was made, and I love even more that now I know what it's saying thanks to a quick Google search and your translation. Thanks! :)
Cool song! We listen to it even here, in Tashkent!
well congratulations ! the translation is good enough for people like me who don't speak french.
Hey, I just heard about the song here in South Africa and wanted to know more. I googled and stumbled upon your translation..awesome stuff. Thanks...and well done. Now i just gotta listen to the track!!
Hey, thanx for translating. My french is as good as my norwegian, which is non-existent, of course. In here in Colombia, South America, ther'es also talk around the song. I cannot believe I heard it first on an all- rock radio station in Bogotá.Fuckin' awesome, dude. *wink*kala
Giga thanx for the lyric as well as the song. Scrapped it onto my blog in Korea. Good day~Jun
Even the Italians like it!Thank you for the translation.Franco, London
the song is awesome and spreading all around the world! i heard it today on national public radio in the us. cheers!allez les bleus!
Just read about this awesome song on the web on the BBC news Front page!! Got the audio (www.odeo.com) & video (Google)and we´re jamming and swaying and dipping etc.No 1 across the World please!!
This is AWESOME! I big thanks from Orange County, California. I speak fairly decent French- I agree with your translation. Great job!
Awesome song ... made my day!!!!It does sound like il l'a tapé il l'a frappé, definitely ..though it's nearly funnier the other way, as it's a childish way to speak A french expat gal =)
Hey-Thanks for posting these. I've got the French lyrics on my own blog, and my translation isn't as good as yours. Could I perhaps snatch it, if I credit it?Anyway, thanks a lot!-c
Hey, I have also copied part of your entry to my blog (but I did credit it!). The song is just hilarious....
I believe it is "Zidane il a tapé"ALLEZ LES BLEUS!!!!Merci
ROFLMAO, THANK YOU FROM NORTH AMERICA! Even Americans followed this story, believe it or not. I must now listen to this song all the way home, thank you for the translation! My French is bad but your English is very good.
Bravo!
Haha, thanks to a quick google search, I found these lyrics. They're really great, no matter how iffy. I've done the same things with German : )
The Trezeguet part is not accurately translated imho:your translation " Trezeguet didn't play/When he played he sucked/He screwed up everything" is much harsher than the original which sounds more like "Trezeguet didn't play/ When he played he blundered/ He botched the whole thingJust my 2 cents
What a lousy suck song! Oh, your blog sucks by the way!
Lousy dumb blog!
oh man! this blog sucks!
THIS SONG FUNNY
Cool transalation, we love the song even up here in little old Batley, England, UK. i heard it yesterday on the radio, and well, wanted to know what it meant, thanx.Soap n Nemo

Whoever posted last, made the correction I was going to make. You translated the part "Mais Chirac a bien parlé" incorrectly and it should be "But Chirac spoke well". Anyways they cleared it up. Love the song, great post!
Thanks for the translation. It has made the song even more enjoyable. You have done a great service to the world!!
Nice translation...it's got a pretty catchy tune...so ironic...yet so enjoyable...heh
sweet! i was looking for the lyrics. i had to know them once the song got stuck in my head.here's an article i wrote july 12, a few days after the final...it is not entirely accurate now, since the outcome of the "investigation" regarding materazzi's comments to zidane.World Cup 2006: Zizou and the Anti-racist Headbutt Heard Round the WorldCasy's Lantern

Zidane rocks!
hiiiiiiiii it's a beautiful song but please could anyone explain what the word (The guido) meansplease !!!!!
Thanks for the lyrics. I listened over and over and could not quite get them all - and I am a French teacher! I'll play it for my high school students. hizou- "Guido" is slang for an Italian person and in the U.S. the word is considered derogatory. KSH - Rhode Island, USA
Hi ! I'm french (really)! I didn't now that this song had so much success... I though that it was only in France, but I was wrong. Well I love this song. In french the lyrics are better then in english !Salut ! Thanks a lot for what You are doing!Information, that I managed to find here is extremely useful and essential for me!With the best regards! David
This song is a hit in Toronto, Canada too! The tune is so catchy too... thanks a lot for the lyrics!By the way, it's amazing how people from all over the world have posted their comments here.
Hehehehe. Rital = guido??I'm pretty sure that's Henry's nickname. It's a reference to the run-in in the opening minutes of the game.
Oh yeah, his other nick name is l'anaconda ;)
Hmmm... I don't think the other comments went through. But I was thinking "riton" not "rital"... rital is just slang for italian, but I think guido is a more insulting english equivalent. I think i was just looking for an excuse to mention Henry.
i love this song muy muy bien
